It's coincidental.: Eating ginger will not affect vaginal odor. But an infection can.  While there are vaginal test kits available OTC that can screen you for vaginitis, they just give you a general idea of whether you have a yeast infection or bacterial infection.  Since this is the first time you've had smelly discharge, your best bet is to see a doctor.  Stay healthy!

Periods on this particular pill are usually very light so it may improve with time. Brown discharge is a small amount of old blood. Urine smell is diet related unless you have burning and frequency. If you have those symptoms you have a bladder infection.

In any case, it sounds like an infection, although atypical for most urinary tract infections. STDs are possible if at risk, but quite rare at your age.
