Severe case: If lotrimin af or topical over the counter creams are not working you may need rx: Lamisil (terbinafine) or Nizoral cream/tablets. See your physician and stop all otc meds.

A couple weeks...: The best otc medication (in my opinion) is lotrimin (clotrimazole) ultra. Socks should be a synthetic material (i know i'll take heat for this) like those manufactured by thorlo [http://www.Thorlo.Com/]. Dilute vinegar soaks are good as well.  Dry the inside of your shoes by placing them up-side down over an air return vent at home overnight. If this doesn't make things better in a couple days, see a podiatrist.

Hormonal changes: Hormonal changes could effect sweat duct activity.  I would recommend painting gentian violet (otc) on the affected areas 2-3 times a week and using an anti-fungal powder daily.  This should be done always.

No: Ringworm is actually fungus that  lives off old dead skin cells that have not shed. As such it never stimulates the deeper areas of the tissue where blood cells move, so nothing would show up on a common blood test. Some ringworm occasionally triggers an allergy like response &amp; itching at which point the blood may show a vague, non-specific change.

1) yes to number 1: 2) I thought the purpose of the laser treatment was to kill the fungus on the tonsils. Creams on nails are not very successful as thy have a hard time penetrating the nail. Oral lamisil (terbinafine) is still the most effective treatment for toenails in my opinoin.

Athlete's foot: If you have tried over the counter meds for enough time and didn't improve, you need to seen by a doctor for better management, if that won't help either, you need to see a specialist, dermatologist, good luck
