Weakness.: Weakness is weakness no matter the cause. That said, steroids can in some instances cause weakness via damage to type 2 muscle fibers (those that produce power). Vit d def also causes atrophy of type 2 muscle fibers which tends to be more reversible (with vit d replacement). Serotonin toxicity causes uncontrolled muscle spasms which, if severe, can cause severe muscle breakdown (type 1 & 2 fibers).

LEMS: Lambert Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome is a neuromuscular disorder. I am unaware that malbsorption is specifically its cause. However, a malabsorption problem would aggravate it. I good source to explore this is Immunolabs. They have a great web site about malabsorption . Hope that helps.

Severe vitamin D def: May cause Adults to experience "bone pain" as well as muscle weakness. There is no clear pattern of symptoms. In fact many people remain asymptomatic despite low levels. But here are the more common symptoms: Fatigue, General muscle pain and weakness, Muscle cramps, Joint pain, Chronic pain, Weight gain, High blood pressure, Restless sleep, Poor concentration, and Headaches.

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!

Such weakness can have multiple etiologies from brain to muscle itself.

Lessen you dosage: Consult with your doctor.  The rx instructions indicate a reduction of dosage is in order under the guidance of your doctor. A pill splitter can cut the pills in half to give you half dose.  You can eliminate certain days a week to cut your overall dose.  I know a person that reduce their dose to taking only 5 mg once per week - approved by their doctor, and is doing well..
