Not relevant.: You have mentioned three problems which have no relation to each other. Autism is basically how her mind is arranged and is a disorder of thinking, senses and language. Mrsa infections are staph and hers sound like they are skin related. Finally URI is a virus infection of the nose, throat, ariways or sinuses.

No.: This has been well studied, and there is no credible evidence that thimersol (aka "thiomersal") is a factor in autism --the cdc, am academy of pediatrics, world health organization & all experts agree on this. It's been removed from vaccines in usa for >10years anyway-- & of course, we are still seeing new cases in very young children.  So, the answer is no.

Autistic Spectrum: Disorder is a neurodevelopmental disorder diagnosed by history ; clinical observation of qualitative impairments in social communication ; social reciprocity + stereotypical, repetitive, non-functional motor movements or narrow , restricted areas of  interest. Genetic ; epigenetic (factors that change function, but not structure or sequence of fetal genes) are the major known causes, .

No: Obstructive sleep apnea is caused by upper airway collapse or flaccidity.  It can also be due to enlarged tonsils and adenoids.  Autistic patients can suffer from osa, but osa has not be found to cause autism, although children with autism can have worsened autistic symptoms from untreated osa.

I want to know too!: We all want to find out.  There are many theories and researchers are looking to separate truth from fiction.  Autism is a very complicated diagnosis, and my passion is helping coach children and families dealing with the diagnosis. As we learn more about genetics i feel we will have more answers in the future.  Finding out how environment affects certain genes will also help the search.

Yes: Although an official diagnosis is not needed to start necessary therapies do not be afraid of a label. Some therapies like aba, which are very helpful, are not covered without an official diagnosis. Other services, like respite care  or grants and other funding may not be accessible without it.  If social security is needed for long term care it will also be necessary.

No: Untreated add will not lead to autism. Certainly signs of autism maybe confused with add or adhd.

Toxic environment: Autism is a combination of genetic vulnerability and environmental triggers. As we have added more toxins to the environment we are also processing much of the nutrition right out of our food supply.

Yes: Food sensitivities and poor sleep can cause behavioral issues with symptoms similar to autism. But children with autism can also have food sensitivity.

Unlikely : The mental impairments associated with lead toxicity are qualitatively different from the autism spectrum, so childhood exposure to these compounds while bad, would not yield autism. There is room for speculation on whether a mothers exposure to toxic substances in life could cause the genetic codon changes in her eggs that are later identified in autistic kids.
