is there another test other than colonoscopy? can you have mri scan of the bowel?

Direct vision best: Colonoscopy is best for allowing direct vision of the bowel and bx  which an MRI can't accomplish.  There is virtual colonoscopy where a scanner looks at the bowel as if there were a scope within and is almost comparable to the direct form.  New tests being developed look at gene alterations in stool or more recently shedding of tumor antigen into stool, the measurement done in GP office.

i had an egd for nausea and burping and chest burning in august 2022. nothing showed up. he did not see anything. i still have the symptoms. i have had heart tests, mri scans, egd, colonoscopy. no reflux on egd. could this be symptoms of anxiety?

: You probably have functional dyspepsia and symptoms may resemble reflux symptoms. If your symptoms are relieved with antacids or gastric acid reducer, anxiety is less likely although functional dyspepsia can still be a psychosomatic disorder. Take care.

nausea 9% functioning of gallbladder after hida scan otherwise no pain or gallstones.  endoscopy, mri, colonoscopy (l 1/2 yrs. ago )  ultrasound all ok.  diagnosis is to remove gb...unsure?

Sick GB: Nausea and only 9% function on a hida scan?  Sounds like a sick gallbladder is a distinct possibility.  Now whether you want surgery or not is up to you.  Depends on how miserable you are.  You may be able to keep symptoms under control with dietary changes.  The risk of not treating it, is that you might find that you need it removed emergently later. Not optimal.

What for?: MRI usually provides a better image than CAT scan and there is no radiation involved. From what you described, it is not likely that CAT scan would add any value to the imagining studies already done.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

hi is there anyway of getting out of having a colonoscopy. would a ct scan,mri, barium enema or any type of other test work to detect why i have black stools because i really dont want a colonoscopy please help thanks. really would like a ct scan?

At present: there is no suitable replacement for a screening or diagnostic colonoscopy. There is a CT procedure known of as a "virtual colonoscopy," but it lacks the diagnostic sensitivity to truly replace a colonoscopy. If your doctor is doing the colonoscopy to diagnose a particular condition, it is particularly important, as they may need to do a biopsy, which can't be done by CT. Hope this helps!

: So far the work up does not suggest or support the diagnosis of ovarian cancer and your symptoms are too non specific. Would suggest focusing on avoiding constipation, fiber, hydration, physical exercise and further investigate upper gi symptoms. Your doc remains your best reference at this point.

Yes: Increasingly more neuroimaging data is becoming available illustrating brain white matter changes seen in alzheimer's disease.

.5 hr.: about half an hour. MRI takes longer and is noisy than CT Scan, but gives more valuable info. After CT scan, may have to do MRI but not vice versa.
