Nothing. It is a: benign finding  and has no clinical significance,unless the polyp was huge,in which case it would need to be removed.

Nonspecific: Scattered white spots confined to the white matter of the brain are fairly common and not specific for a certain disease.  White spots in a person less than 50 yrs. Old, however,  are usually abnormal and may be seen with multiple sclerosis among many other entities.  As one ages, these are more likely due to tiny arterial blockages and are fairly common in people over 70 yrs. Old.

Since you have a lesion already documented, this does raise a risk of potential seizure activity, and you should discuss with your doctor whether or not it is wise to go on anti-epileptic drug.

Many possibilities: Sounds like you're referring to t2 white matter hyper intensities.  The possible causes are numerous.  Developing some small spots is really fairly normal as one ages,  but the devil is in the details of your films, your history, and your exam.  Your neurologist would be best one to determine what these may be, if they are concerning, and if they require further investigation.

non contrast mri brain report read: "within the field of view, the thalamus is partially imaged and there appears to be a 3-4 mm lesion of decreased t1 and increased t2 signal in the left hemi-thalamus." what do these signals mean? what could this be?
