can you have montgomery's tubercles and not be pregnant? i don't know how long i've had them, but they are only visible when i'm cold. what are they?

Yes: All mature women have them.  Some show more easily than others. If i remember correctly, the arrector pili muscles make them show when you're cold.

Always: Montgomery glands are a normal part of the breast. They may be more noticeable during pregnancy, but they are present all the time.

YES: So called "Montgomery tubercles" are a part of NORMAL BREASTS...they may become more PROMINENT with pregnancy but they are normal with and without pregnancy!

Normal anatomy: Montgomery tubercles are normal on the areola.  They are sebaceous glands and though they typically become more pronounced during pregnancy they are present on most women's areolas to some extent.

Possibly : Any time you have had unprotected intercourse and your period is late or abnormal, you could be pregnant. To know for sure, do a pregnancy test and repeat it in 3-5 days if it is negative. Hope this helps.

Yes: The glands of Montgomery of the breasts will appear more prominent with the use of the pill. Sometimes, patients will also note a bilateral "cheek rash" known as the  mask of pregnancy with pill use as well.

The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

Glands of Montgomery: Breast glands of Montgomery can be elevated for those who are taking a hormonal method of contraception. Those patients also can acquire a cholasma (facial rash) that is also present in pregnancy.  Pregnancy is not the only reason for elevation of the Glands of Montgomery.
