Molluscum: Molluscum contagiosum is secondary to a virus.  I usually recommend Aldara 5% cream for 8 hours overnight covered or 5 times per week and it works great!  The medication will cause some redness and irritation but it helps your immune system fight the virus.   It might take 1-2 months to fully clear.

Molluscum : This is caused by a pox virus. It is contagious from person to person by direct contact, sharing towels, sharing bathwater, or even from swimming in the same pool.

The condition is self-limited and goes away without treatment, although it can take many months. 

One can pick the bumps off, by stretching the skin tight between two fingers first, and removing the little ball inside.

Skin lesions: Molluscum contagiosum is caused by a dna pox virus for which we do not have specific therapy.  Often these lesions will regress spontaneously with time, and if you apply coconut oil and they go away the temporal relationships will convince you that it was effective.  There is no evidence to support this, but it cannot hurt much.
