Yes indeed: If you were lucky enough to avoid molluscum contagiosum when you were a child, you are susceptible to it and probably caught it from your kids. See a doctor (preferably a dermatologist) to confirm the diagnosis and get treated. But don't worry about it:  MC is a minor condition with no known complications.

If a few become inflamed as they begin to shed, treat as if a simple cut or scratch to prevent skin bacteria from causing a localized infection.

Actually: MCV (molluscum contagiosum virus) ia a poxvirus are hard to treat, as they tend to recur. Some docs will "freeze" with cryotherapy. Make sure you see someone who has experience treating skin lesions.
