Chymotra...Minitop: etc etc etc all=MINOXIDIL and if it works it works ..if no results ...suggest you see a Board Certified Dermatologist for some professional help with your hair loss!

i was used minioxidil topical solution usp5% brand name retro. now i changed brand mintop forte cos retro not available. change brand affects my hair?

Possibly.: As with any brand name change in medication, it is possible that you may not have the same effects however the percentage of active medication (minoxidil) should remain the same and theoretically, the results should remain as well.

Hair loss: Male pattern baldness can start at an early age - the only 2 proven treatments that work (other than hair transplant) are Minoxidil topical (rogaine, mintop) and Finasteride (propecia). Both ahve to be taken continuously, and the hair will fall out again after you stop.

It May: Rogaine (minoxidil) is approved for application on the scalp to grow hair as an over the counter product.  Trying it in other areas may work, but more likely you would benefit from a medical evaluation and other therapies (some people do hair transplant to missing beard hair areas!).

No: It does slow the process of male pattern baldness. Several percent of men can't grow a good beard. Many women seem to prefer a smooth man. You don't see Justin Bieber or Larry Bird complaining. If you're "culture" disparages a thin-bearded man, you have my sympathy. Hit the gym hard, build yourself up, and nobody will criticize any aspect of your genetics.

Hard to say: We know it works well for the scalp, but for other areas its not proven.  However, rogaine (minoxidil) is no longer expensive, and if you have thin areas in your beard, or areas where your beard has lost hair, i would definitely try rogaine (minoxidil), twice daily for 6 months.

Not effective: consult your dermatologist- minoxidil was never meant to be used for beard alopecia- it simply will not work.

Yes: it is true that much of the hair gained with Minoxidil is not permanent but NO NORMAL HAIR IS  Hair is FALLING OUT all the TIME! Usually we do not NOTICE IT!. Minoxidil is a great advance for Treatment male pattern baldness and it can be used for the rest of your life if you wish it!

FDA Approval: There are many anecdotal reports of enhancing hair growth men's beards.  I have not encountered any published peer reviewed clinical trials confirming its efficacy.  Topical Minoxidil is fda approved for enhancing hair growth of the scalp vertex.

Not sure: Minoxidil is effective in growing hair in the crown area of the head, will not work on the frontal area.  It may work on face?  If you haven't experienced hair growth on your face by now than chances are you have limited hair follicles.  If you really want more hair on the face than consider a hair transplant.
