hello i have noticed a dark orange spot on my fingertip. i haven't touched any chemicals that i know of or anything that would make them change colors?

: The answer is YES for some people and it should not be a new finding for those people. However, if this finding is a new occurrence then an underlying problem should be considered.

Maybe: You'll want to make sure the wound was thoroughly cleaned and stitches placed as needed.  Pay very close attention to the wound for any signs of infection.  If infection spreads to the bone, it is a very serious matter.  Definitely get evaluated by your doc if you haven't already.  Get well soon!

Numbness: The possibilities are too numerous. An adequate history and physical examination performed by your physician would help him to narrow down the possibilities. I always look for vitamin B12 and blood sugar disorders. Carpal tunnel syndrome, neck conditions, brainstem demyelinating or structural  disorders, and less likely stroke or tumors. Check with your physician for actuate diagnosis. Be well.

should a fingertip amputation be bleeding after 6 hours when changing dressings? how often should they be changed? cut is not past the nail, no bone.

A little bleeding nl: A soft tissue loss of the distal tip of a finger can bleed with dressings, often if the dressing had dried to the wound. To change the dressing, wet it first with saline, &amp; then gently remove the dressing. A simple protocol is saline wet to moist changes every six hours. There are many types of topical antimicrobial creams &amp; ointments used that help dressings not bleed &amp; aid healing. No aspirin.

my two year old son's fingertips are peeling and cracked. he also has a cough that is more prevalent at night. he is also complaining of painful diaper rash even though he is cleaned and changed regularly. he is mostly fine during the day.

Hot fingertips: This can be a vasoactive phenomenon called Raynaud or just eactive vasodilation. I would recommend seeing a vascular surgeon or a neurologist

Cold related color?: Usually quick changes in skin color can be related to blood vessels. In this case, if blood vessels get small to conserve heat, color will turn more white. If they stay that way, you may see blue. When the vessels get bigger again, you may see flushing, or pink to red. Some people have more reactive vessels than others, and some can experience pain/tingling with this, such as with reynaud's.

Several reasons: We all get tinfling in our fingers occasionally but if it stays or reoccurs frequently it is worth getting it checked out by your doc.
