Metabolic Disease: Metabolic diseases are conditions resulting from disturbances in a patient's metabolism. For example - metabolic syndrome - a result of excess carbs - leading to Insulin resistance - high triglycerides - then finally htn, cvd and dm. So you could make the case that htn, CAD & dm are metabolic diseases. In fact, you could make the case that all diseases have a metabolic origin & a metabolic rx.

If you are referring to the metabolic syndrome, including fatty liver, then your best treatment is to lose weight and avoid things that are toxic to the liver, such as alcohol. Many people live long lives with this, but metabolic syndrome can be a risk factor for diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Lose weight! Good luck.

That protein is supposed to carry excess copper like a taxicab.It takes it to the kidneys to be eliminated. Without this carrier protein, copper builds up in toxic amounts in tissue & starts to kill cells by messing up their metabolism. We are exposed to copper in our diet & in low levels it won't hurt you, high levels do.
