Then your podiatrist will examine your feet and do several tests including: testing for the presence of a mulder's click, palpating the area between the metatarsals, squeezing the foot, evaluating whether the toes are spreading apart, evaluating for diminished sensation of the affected toes etc.

There are certain rare genetic conditions which predispose to numerous fibromas all over the body (neurofibromatosis).
