i have green discharge. viganal swab test results are : scant gram  positive cocci and bacilli. do i have bacterial infection? thanks

Can't say: Those results mean nothing. Vaginal infections causing discharge are typically sexual or what's called bacterial vaginosis (BV). BV is diagnosed by wet mount looking for 'clue cells'. Sexual infections are gonorrhea and chlamydia (both diagnosed by DNA swab) and trichomonas (diagnosed by wet mount looking for the moving organisms).

Bacterial infection: Would not do this without direct orders from a treating doctor who has examined you. This is a sensitive area that may be damaged by some topical materials used to treat skin infections.  Need to be diagnosed and prescribed specifically for the particular infection affecting you.

Depends: It depends on the site of infection.  Zithromax is only for certain types of infections.  Other antibiotics commonly used outside the hospital are amoxicillin, levofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, bactrim, augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) clindamycin, keflex, and others.

Depends: There are many different parts to the immune system, and many illnesses that can affect it.  Certain types of immune deficiency can be treated, but first you need to be thoroughly evaluated by a physician to determine if there is a measurable deficiency, what it is and what it may be due to.  Have you been tested for hiv?

Probably not: Bacterial vaginosis causes trauma to the cervix and that may be the reason for the brown discharge.  In any case, do a pregnancy test and this way you will be sure.
