How many weeks preg?: Castor Oil should not be taken without first consulting a physician. It could result in harm to your unborn baby. Castor Oil effects are very strong to the mother, it could put stress on the fetus.Under stress, fetal heart-rate increases and the anal sphincter relaxes, resulting in the release of meconium. When the amniotic fluid becomes contaminated with meconium, the baby can inhale this.

Yes: Your baby is okay. If you are constipated, it would be better to take a fiber laxative like Metamucil.

Pregnancy: well taking castor oil will certainly give you diarrhea.  This may or may not put you in labor.  It will make you really uncomfortable!  I would imagine this is your first pregnancy. I recommend you ask your OB or FP who is following your pregnancy. You have to be pretty close to either going into labor yourself or being induced.  At most you have a little over a week to go. Babies always come out

No: Castor Oil does not induce your period. It causes cramping and is very irritating. I would get a massage instead. More pleasant and in some good hands may bring on your period if you are so keen to have it.
