Varicocoele surgery : Removal of a varicocoele will cause irritation of surrounding smooth muscle (cremaster muscle in particular) for several weeks after the surgery.  If your scrotum is sore, inflamed or swollen, see the surgeon who performed the surgery. The discomfort should go away soon (in another week or two) .

Anal Sex: This is not uncommon.  If the marker has not been recovered you must go to the er to have it recovered. If it has been recovered i doubt it is the cause of your symptoms.

You only need one: One testicle is all you need for adequate fertility, sexual function, and testosterone production.  As long as your remaining testicle is healthy, you will produce everything you would have produced had you never had an accident.

Doctor can examine: Frequency of masturbation varies a lot. For some, once every 8 wks seems too much; but for others, once every 8 hrs seems not enough. One should maybe cut back if he often thinks of doing it less, if he starts feeling guilty about it, if it interferes with daily activities such as school or work, if it causes testicular swelling or pain, etc...  A doctor can examine to be sure the testis is ok.

No: Whether your scrotum is relaxed or tense depends on how much your dartos muscle contracts -- that's the smooth muscle that makes the skin shrink up when you jump into a cold shower. Don't worry about this stuff.

No: If you have a new mass on a testis, your physician needs to see it. We don't want to miss testicular cancer. There are a lot of things in a guy's scrotum and he should be familiar with them; the concern is if anything changes and especially if one of the testes becomes notably larger. Testicular tumors develop without respect to how much or how little you enjoy your body. Hope you do self-exam.
