No harm either way: Masturbating or not masturbating will not have any measurable effect on your health. There is nothing wrong with masturbating and there will no harm if you do not.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Young men who are single and suffering from NBP must be informed about their illness in detail and, if they are not doing so, they should be encouraged to ejaculate regularly, for example by masturbation in the absence of a sexual relationship with a partner. Normal sexual activity usually decreases the incidence of prostatitis.

Bad information: We do not like to contradict other physicians here. But, there is absolutely no truth to the information your physician told you. Emptying the prostate can be one of several possible ways to treat prostatitis. Ejaculating on a regular basis also helps prevent prostate cancer.

So, the effects from vaginal sex or masturbation appear identical to one's prostate.

Bs: That doctor told you absolute nonsense.  Masturbation does not lead to prostatitis - ask your quack doctor to show any medical studies that say otherwise.  I'm not sure what you mean by weak nerve system.  Aggressive masturbation or sex can lead to nerve injury but that is rare and should heal.

i'm 38 and have chronic prostatitis. it got worse after excessive masturbation and it has been 39 days without symptoms improving. the last time this happened was last year and symptoms improved after abstaining for 33 days. will it improve again?
