Check prostate : Your prostate needs to be checked at least yearly by digital examination and by blood test. Hernia could be checked routinely during physical examination . Hernia will not affect your bathroom routine your prostate does

Yearly: But neither of the will diagnose your problem. Need a  post voiding u/s of the bladder (residual)

Push the hernia out: A hernia consists of a hole in the abdominal wall through which the inner lining of the abdominal cavity stretches out to create a sac.  Hernias may often be subtle and protrude only with increased activity.  Coughing increases the pressure within the abdominal cavity, thus "inflating" the sac to make it more prominent on examination.

: No, a hiatal hernia is usually diagnosed with imaging studies as opposed for example to an inguinal or abdominal hernia that can be  diagnosed on a physical exam.

: Hernia is an anatomical defect. While losing weight etc might help it will not change that. Lose weight,avoid heavy lifting or straining and whe in good shape have it treated surgically. Good luck.

on recent barium meal exam radiologist saw small sliding hiatal hernia would
it normaly be treated ?although i'm slim, in evening my stomach is large.

Hiatal hernia: A small hiatal hernia would likely NOT need surgical repair, unless it became "stuck" or causing lots of symptoms. Usually a small hiatal hernia is not symptomatic and seen incidentally when looking for other diagnoses.
