Acne: It is better for the skin to use a non-comedomal promoting lotion e.g. Cetaphil or neutragena oil-free lotion.  Other lotions with oil can promote comedomes and cause plugging of the skin pores.

Makeup : Certain makeup may aggravate acne.  Mineral based makeup as found in jane iredale or others may prove helpful. See a dermatologist for a good treatment regimen.

See your physician: It's time to move you up to a prescription-strength medicine to supplement the benzoyl peroxide (which was a great start). Your physician can probably clear you with topical clindamycin. Tretinoin or something similar. The oral contraceptive pill (if it's right for you) or spironolactone are also possibilities. Good luck and stay proactive.

"Non-comedogenic": Look for the term "non-comedogenic" -- meaning that the product lacks ingredients known to worsen acne in most people. Key word being "most" people, as no product can have a 100% guarantee in all people. Avoid heavy & oil-containing products (including your moisturizer & other face products), as these tend to worsen acne.

why do i get acne when i wear makeup?

Acne: Its called Acne Cosmetica and the theory is that you may be using acnegenic or comedogenic makeup products with oily or thick foundation which mechanically block your pilosebasceous pores. I also believe it is likely that there is a contact dermatitis or sensitivity and inflammation triggered by the application of the products. Change to powder foundation and never sleep in your makeup

Unrealistic expect: Acne is a process that most teenagers live through. There are several medicines which help but it may well take several years. There are cosmeticians(?) at some high end stores (Bloomingdales) that can help you choose an array of cosmetics that can help you. The good news is that acne is usually self-limited.

Medicated concealers: There are a number of medicated concealers that are over the counter.  Benzoyl peroxide is one medication found in some of these, and it's know to help treat acne lesions.
