please let me know what is the connection between oral lichen planus and stiff palpable lymph nodes in neck?

Inflamation: Lichen planis is an autoimmune disorder which manifests in inflammatory responses.  Your body will react to inflammation by trying to clean up the fluids and cells through your lymph system.  The ones in your neck are the pathway, thus stiff nodes.  Baylor university has a great clinic and support group that can help you understand this problem.  Or see your dentist or dermatologist.

Dermamtologist: Lichen planus  pigmentosus is a rare variant of lichen planus and is characterized by the presence of hyperpigmented, dark-brown macules in sun-exposed or skin-fold areas of the body. Treatments include topical steroids, ); systemic steroids; oral metronidazole, oral acitretin, narrow-band or broadband uv-b therapy. Obviously, this problem has to be managed by a dermatologist. No cure - just manage.

had bloodwork for lupus all neg. hemo-onco swears i have it. butterfly rash ana 1:320 homogeneous nucleolar. sacroilitis though.body, spine,neck pain,fatigue. rheum says spondyloarthropathy but wants 2nd opinion.could it be lupus?lichen planus too?

: You may have lupus, however, the exact label is not essential for your doctors to take care of you. The treatment is geared towards your symptoms and the organs that may be affected by the auto-immune process. SLE has a wide range of clinical presentations. Yes: Sore throat seems to be a fairly common condition--almost 20% of all lichen planus in some research. While the cause of lichen plans is not clear, other skin areas are often affected.

how long to flare ups of oral lichen planus last?got diagnosed yesterday, in throat (4 months of pain). thought it was from an nsaid. will it go away?

See Oral Pathologist: Painful (erosive/ulcerative) forms of oral lichen planus can usually be controlled with the use of topical corticosteroids. In some refractory cases, systemic steriods or other medicines may be prescribed by your Oral Pathologist or Orofacial Pain specialist.

Neck masses: Other than lymph nodes in neck are commonly thyroid nodules, branchial cleft cysts, lipomas.  If you can feel these masses in your neck, have your doctor order a ct or mri.  Ultrasound is particularly good at telling whether a mass is solid or cystic, not hard or soft.

im a teen, my lymph nodes in neck are hard and barely moveable, i am worried everyday and scared its cancer, can i please get an answer?

: You are only 18, and I'll bet you dont have cancer, however, worrying about it is not helping you and I strongly suggest that you go and see your doctor and ask him what's going on.  You will feel so much better.

my lymph nodes are swollen on the lower right side of my neck and above the left side of my collarbone. no other symptoms besides globus sensation that started a few weeks ago but thats seems to be coming and going now?

: You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!
