Lymph nodes: Not typically.  The forehead drains into lymph nodes in the face and neck.

i have two lumps on either side of my forehead, and the left one is more tender.  i've had lymph nodes in other places, so am questioning if this is ?

Very common: Enlarged occipital lymph nodes are commonly found in children who have had rashes, infections or mild trauma to the scalp. These are generally of no significant clinical consequence and often reduce in size with time.

i have facial cellulitis. did 4 days iv vano finished today but forehead is still a little pink. cheeks are back to normal and lymph nodes down. i just noticed 2 small sores on my mouth that are new. should i be concerned w/ forehead and sores?

Maybe : If they are inside it could be a rare but serious medication side effect or infectious cause called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.  I would recommend an in person evaluation so a thorough examination can be done.  God Bless

Call doc!: Topomax can sometimes cause rashes, but not cysts.  It can also cause swollen lymph nodes (in &lt;1% of people).  However, whatever is causing the skin lesions could be the reason your lymph nodes are enlarged. Call your doctor and ask what you should do. See Endocrinologist: 33 year old female says she has Low Temperature 97,  aches in lymph nodes all over, more facial hair, &amp; Acne especially in the temple. Does not over eat. All signs suggestive of some Hormonal Imbalance. Will need a good Endocrine work up. Best to see Endocrinology Consult if possible, if not see PCP.

Infection, shingles?: This sounds like a skin infection of some sort. It could be a bacterial infection (e.g. staph, strep, etc) but I'm more suspicious of herpes zoster (shingles). See a doctor ASAP. If bacterial, you'll need an antibiotic. If shingles, an antiviral drug (e.g. valacyclovir) needs to be started very soon to have maximum benefit.

Dermatitis: If ALL the symptoms are on SAME side of your head and don't cross the midline then I'm worried about shingles which can later become painful. Starting treatment right away is critical
A chemical allergic reaction is also possible especially if your hair was dyed and should have it looked at.

Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad  like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.
