swolen lymph nodes pain in fingers what could this be?

Not lymph nodes: In the fingers there can be bone enlargement at the dip or pip joints. These are  called herberdon's node and bouchard's nodes. This is osteoarthritis. Just because it is present does  not always mean you need therapy. It depends on your symptoms.  A rheumatologist  can help clarify this.

Yes, nearby: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad  like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.

is it normal to have lymph nodes under your ribcage? if i kind of scoop under my ribcage (front side of my body), i feel a lymph node that moves under my fingers on both sides of the ribcage?

BENIGN TUMOR: Lymph drainage is not superficial in that area. Although a fatty tumor is most likely , please consult a physician to be sure what it may be.

Lymph nodes: Yes there are but they are rounded not long and flat, you are probably feeling a muscle edge.

Yes: These are usually supraclavicular nodes, above the clavicles. These nodes can enlarge with reaction to infection or sometimes from tumor.

Matted lymph nodes: When several shoddy nodes are present they are palpated as as a unit and give the sensation of being matted together.

Jaw lump: Mobile lumps in this area could be due to infected tooth or gum disease. Have dentist or doc check out.

34 and have been experiencing discomfort under jawline as if someone is pushing fingers up into my lymph nodes for months since having strep and the flu. my tonsil on left side seems to be fine but feels adjacent to the discomfort. tonsil cancer?

Neck masses: Other than lymph nodes in neck are commonly thyroid nodules, branchial cleft cysts, lipomas.  If you can feel these masses in your neck, have your doctor order a ct or mri.  Ultrasound is particularly good at telling whether a mass is solid or cystic, not hard or soft.

is it normal for lymph nodes to swell on both sides of the neck? i dont feel sick and they dont hurt. its just a fullness feeling.
