Yes: Lsd possibly affects serotonin receptors. Tourette's may be due to oversensitivity of Dopamine receptors. The relationship between serotonin and Dopamine is complicated.

In my opinion, anything disrupting neurotransmitters should be approached very cautiously, if at all, and definitely supervised by a doctor.

And, like with any street drug, can you even know it's really lsd?

Highly unlikely: There is an entity called hallucinogen persistent induced  perception disorder, but while it was believed in the 60s and 70s to be common, further evaluation showed that most people with these symptoms after using hallucinogenic drugs were people with underlying thought disorders - early schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders etc.  "insanity" is actually a legal, and not a medical term.

Probably not: Further investigation into the many reports of people who developed psychosis after using hallucinogens, mostly in the 1960s, found that the overwhelming majority of these episodes resolved themselves, Flashbacks may occur. In a few cases, it was likely that the individual already had a psychotic disorder - schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or others - and the LSD pushed them over the edge.

It can cause trails years after the use and lsd flashbacks of bad trips can occur. If used too much, an illness like schizophrenia occurs.

Other than bad trips: I have seen horrific psychoses that were really bizarre and in very young people confined to the back wards of the state hospital. I have seen it worsen dissociative disorders, cause and worsen ptsd, cause and worsen depression and anxiety disorders.  As an emergency room psychiatrist working in the drug ridden neighbor hood of chicago in the early 1980s i saw this and much more. Have also seen people have trails years after the use of lsd. This can cause much distress for some people.
