Coccydynia: Tailbone pain can occur with or without injury. Only real concern is to exclude a sacral tumor (extremely rare). If bowel/bladder habits normal, probably ok. Treatment included nsaid's, and a sitting pillow. Not a doughnut, but a foam wedge with triangle cutout. This keeps you sitting leaning forward without pressure on the coccyx. If persistent, removal is rarely needed but successful.

Buttock Pain: This can be the result of sacroiliac pain or referred lumbar pain. Pain in the si joint, where the pelvis meets the spine, is not terribly uncommon. This pain usually worsens with any weightbearing on pelvis (sitting, standing, lying on side). One or both sides may hurt. Injection is diagnostic, and pt usually helps. Referred pain may be  arthritic disc or nerve pressure. Piriformis another cause.
