Unknown.: Lamisil (terbinafine) decreases the clearance of caffeine by about 20%. U need to be careful if u have a condition that can be aggravated by too much caffeine (ex. Hi blood pressure, anxiety, etc...) . Nonetheless, talk to your dermatologist about "pulsing" lamisil (terbinafine). Essentially, it enables you to take half the number of tablets of Lamisil (terbinafine) during the 3-4 month treatment without compromising any efficacy.

Depends: Untreated toenail fungus often leads to thickened, disfigured and discolored toenails. Occasionally, toenail fungus can also lead to pain.  Whether or not one takes the oral Lamisil (terbinafine) depends on one's acceptance to risk of possible liver damage.  One's doctor should be monitoring the liver function closely through blood tests.  Have this frank discussion with your physician.

2 weeks treatment: The usual treatment for skin fungal infection with Lamisil (terbinafine) is 2 weeks. Unless you are at a high risk for complications from other comorbidities, the use of Lamisil (terbinafine) for 2 weeks is very safe.
However, there are some very effective topical medications that may get the job done without the pills.

Not a typical ...: Expected side effect of Lamisil.  While I suppose it's related, more common issues are headaches, gastrointestinal upset, liver toxicity, bone marrow toxicity and various skin complications.  I would review these symptoms with your prescribing doctor to better understand if there is something else contributing or really true concern over Lamisil causing this.

Safe ???: Lamisil is safe and effective when used appropriately &amp; was deemed so by the food &amp; drug administration back when it was only available by prescription. After years of use, its track record allowed it to be released to the general public. Any med that is strong enough to help will have side effects in some people. I find it a safe med. Lotramin is another antifungal that is usually effective.

Toenail fungus: Remember, the medication works by the medicine going through the blood stream and being absorbed into the nail from the nail matrix So new nail that is formed has medication. Noticeable change may be up to a month.

Resistance: Topicals are the way to go in this area however when one agent is not working, switching to another agent is a good idea. 
Topical spray from CVS with tolnaftate a good start in addition to the paragon importance of good foot hygeine and applying your medication right after a shower/bath, changing footwear after sweaty activities.  You should stop oral treatment.
