Chronic daily HA's: Virtually daily headaches can be a complication of either prescription or otc med constant use.  Also, consider triggers from tmj, sinuses, untreated hypertension, thyroid issues, even prior head or neck trauma.  Your pcp can evaluate and suggest therapy.

can you advise for constant, long-lasting headache?

Chronic problem?: If this is a chronic problem then I would begin to evaluate the factors in your life that could be contributing.  Sleep problems, mood disorders, alcohol use, smoking, work environment, leisure activities, daily use of OTC medications like advil, (ibuprofen) poor dietary habits, lack of exercise.  "Cleaning up" your lifestyle often helps with headaches.

Muscle strain: Try getting a memory foam pillow to support your head. You may end up needing therapy if it does not fix itself on its own. Try moist heat for 15 minuts at a time to loosen them um and massage too.

Unusual sensitivity: Cigarette smoke may cause headaches in a bunch of ways, from the nicotine itself, to many other toxic chemicals in the smoke, especially carbon monoxide. Some people have unusual sensitivities, and you seem to be one of them.  Don't hang around smokers, don't let people smoke in your home if you can, and if you can't consider use of smoke-eaters.

background; i go to gym 6x a week roughly 1.5hrs a day. i have chronic post nasal drip, often experience nasal infections.

i'm  on wk 3 of concussion? how much longer?  why can't i go back to work with headaches ?

It may not be...: The headaches that are apparently causing your doc to recommend rest. Rather the headaches are signs that your brain tissue is still healing, & hence, needs to be rested. Please ask your doc (neurologist?) to clarify this for you @ help you understand their thoughts on the criteria for you to start work again. Part time and light duty might be a good starting point.
