May take a while.: If you truly had a stomach infection then it will take a while to clear. The gas is all part of the process of getting back to normal. If you are having a lot of stress besides this can contribute to the  gas and GI upset. You need to talk this over with your doc and plan the best treatment for you together. Reduce or stop the caffeine and alcohol.

You should be and probably are in the good hands of a Rheumatologist, Neurologist and others.
