Get tested: Get a HIV nucleic acid test at about 6 months after the episode. Your risk is low but not zero. You may wish to get tested for other STDs as well.

It's possible...: These condoms purport to help prevent premature ejaculation by numbing the penile skin sensation.  If it gets too numb and there is not enough stimulation, i suppose your erection could fade.

Anal Sex can be hard: Fist, congratulations on falling in love. This is a miracle.

Anal sex is more difficult than vaginal sex and it is not uncommon for a man of your age to have some difficulties maintaining an erection.  Many of my gay patients are on one of the well known erectile drugs such as viagra and Cialis and levitra (vardenafil).  Some get better on these meds and they worry less and need the pills less.

Low risk: If your partner does not have HIV, there is no risk. From what you described, even if your partner has HIV, the risk is minimal to none. To be sure, in about 6 months get a HIV nucleic acid test.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.  Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.
Practice safe sex.
