Breakthrough: menstrual bleeding is usually due to fluctuations in your normal female hormones. If you have continued you BC, there should not be an issue; however, if you have missed pills, do a home pregnancy test and call your GYN if bleeding persists.

Hard to guess, but: A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. If a woman gets her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and a test is not needed.

Pre-menstrual: These sounds like severe pre-menstrual symptoms. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Have you tried some ibuprofen, say, 600 or 800mg with plenty of fluid to see if this helps with the cramping?  Hopefully your period will come soon and these symptoms will get better.  Birth control pills can also make pre-menstrual symptoms easier, just something to think about.

Many women have some variation of mucus discharge, of periods, or a missed period on occasion. Some women feel normal after a few days, but others have bothersome symptoms and follow-up with a doctor. A urine pregnancy test is accurate if done correctly, after missing a period or 3 wks after sex.
