Pigmentation and CRF: The adrenal glands are positioned directly above the kidneys.  As the kidneys are failing, the adrenal glands are also often affected.  As the brain tries to signal for increased adrenal activity you get more adrenocorticotropic hormone (acth), this can cause increased melanocyte stimulating hormone activity causing the increasd pigmentation associated with chronic renal failure.

As do we all...: We all have pigmentation (except albinos, whom we should take good care of for other reasons). We are people of all colors, from very light colored skin, all the way to dark skin. In this day and age, it's probably not a good idea to want children to have a certain skin color, other than wanting a child to resemble his parents' colors. Whatever normal color nature brings should be just fine.

I would recommend that you consult a Board Certified Dermatologist for evaluation and treatment.  There are prescription products that would definitely help with pigmentation problems along with procedures they could offer to you

Certain diseases associated with hormonal imbalance such as addison's or cushing's can also cause excess pigment.
