Diarrhea s/p chole: Diarrhea is not uncommon s/p  cholecystectomy. Bile is green. Your body now has to adjust and there are dietary restrictions . Limit fat to 30-60  grams /day (low fat foods  have &lt; 3 grams /serving )

my poop was medium to light green. it wasn't diarrhea, just a softened solid stool after taking mom. i took mom right after taking a normal poop, i haven't eaten much that day as well, nothing green either. it's never been that green before...

Doctor can evaluate: If a normal, healthy person has changes in stool consistency, color, or frequency, she can record the symptoms on a calendar, and review it with her primary care doctor. Include on the calendar what foods were eaten each time the stool got green, what activities were done, what meds were taken, what drinks, etc...  One-time stool color changes (except red or black) might not be a medical problem.

Possibly: If the muffin was bad or contaminated, it could be. However, it depends on what else you ate and if anyone else who ate the same things also got sick. Usually these infections resolve within 1-2 days. If not, see your doctor for an exam and possible stool test.

Diarrhea : Ian’s age is key here, if he is very young he needs emergent care, if he’s a teen you’ll need to have him seen in the AM, he needs a full history, exam and some testing

IBS: Your symptoms may be due to an irritable bowel syndrome and/or food intolerance(lactose,gluten). Stress may play a role. If you can pinpoint certain foods as a culprit,eliminating them will help. If diarrhea persists, checking a stool culture to look for infection is the next step.

hi i ate a bunch of oreos  earlier today and now i'm having  diarrhea  that is black and green. i was wondering if the oreos would cause the change in color or if something else is wrong?

Oreo: cookies should NOT color your stools!! "black stools" need to be  investigated since may reflect GI bleeding EG: Bleeding in the CECUM may cause blackish stools ("old blood")  In short, get it checked out!
