Lifting aft surgery: Need to takes easy. Returning to weight lifting soon after abdominal surgery not a smart choice. I am sure you have a follow up within week or two with the surgeon. I would recommend not to lift until you see him or he clears you to go back to lifting.

This : This will depend on the type of appendectomy you had performed and the individual practice of your surgeon. Always get their recommendation. There are different recommendations for those undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy versus open appendectomy because of the location of the incisions. Usually those undergoing a laparoscopic appendectomy can return to the gym sooner. The time frame will vary depending on your surgeon's practice from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. Much of this depends on size of incision, strength of the tissues, and vigor of the exercise. For heavy weight lifting stick to the longer restriction, you can do other exercise (that doesn't use your core) in the mean time. The reason to avoid lifting weights in the first few weeks is that the incision penetrates your abdominal muscles (external oblique, internal oblique, and transversalis) and while they are sewn back together they are weakened and need time to heal without being under strain. Exercising too soon can potentially lead to the muscles reopening and while it is unlikely your wound would reopen you can get a weakening of the abdominal wall in that spot which can lead to an incisional hernia. This can be a long term problem and potentially even require another surgery. A general rule of thumb is not to do anything that causes you more pain.

Patience: Physicians are always surprised by this question. There is nothing wrong with you. And one would never ever want to force or add burden to a healing body.  Time and returning to normal is how this will happen, please be patient with your body. Take care of yourself.  Do not eat unhealthily just to feel that you are making a normal process go faster.

Hernia?: Hernia is a defect in the abdominal wall. Can develop at previous surgery sites. Need to have a surgeon, preferably one who performed your appendectomy, look at it and rule out a developing hernia. Limiting weights is another risk...I would recommend take a break until cleared by surgeon.

Varies: It is best to ask your own surgeon, as different doctors have differing recommendations. As long as you are well and without complications, I recommend my patients to start to return to normal activities and exercises about 2 weeks after uncomplicated laparoscopic surgery.

Need some evaluation: It's unusual to have ongoing symptoms this long after appendectomy, if it was uncomplicated.  If it was complicated by perforation or abscess, it may take some time to get back to baseline. However, you should see your primary doc for further evaluation to be sure nothing else is going on. Make sure you see the pathology from the appendectomy too!

Yes you can: have a pregnancy but delivery depends on your OB  at term. You are probably feeling mild pain from some scar tissue in the skin tissue  which is a minor effect of any surgery.

Best to wait 30 days: If the appendectomy was done using a minimally invasive technique like laraoscopy, i advise no weight training for 3 weeks after surgery.  If the surgery was done open, i advise no weight training or heavy work for 6 weeks.   This assumes there were no wound complications from the original procedure.
