i was on lexapro for 3 weeks 10mg , i taperd down to 5 mg for a week and then stopped. 2 days after i started itching , is this a side effect from stopping the medication?

Ramp down?: I would have suggested tapering the dose as suddenly quitting those meds can cause your exact symptoms. Also depends on what dose you were imin. If already at lowest dose can cut down yo every other day for a week and even down to every three days after that for another 5-7 days. Your body needs to adjust to the lack of serotonin.

Difficult to know: It is difficult to know if the skin condition is related.  If it persists you should be seen by your doctor.

got of birth control in january, losing a lot of hair, also got of zyprexa in january and am now being weaned of lexapro 10 mg, my last day is the 16th of march. what could be causing my hair being greasy and hair falling? also i have itching.

The natural cycle: of hair growth and loss, can become regulated by hormones such as birth control pills, or pregnancy. This can cause heavier loss, and then later regrowth. Other conditions can be checked, thyroid issues for example. See your doctor for a testing and treatment plan.

Not likely: 1 month is not that long of a course to develop a significant reliance on the medication and you should not have any significant withdraw from dicontinuing it.  Everyone metabolizes medications differently, but also the fact that after 3 days off, and you have no issues, that also suggests you will be fine.

Minimal withdrawal: Lowering lexapro dose from 15 to 10 mg shoud not cause much of widrawal symptoms.
Will settle down 12-24 hours.

Once daily dosing: You can take your daily dose now but then don't take another dose for 24 hrs…get back onto your regular schedule tomorrow.  Never double-up or "make up" doses that you miss with antidepressants without first talking to your prescribing physician.  Feel better!
