Normal: Sitting on a hard toilet seat puts pressure on the backs of the thighs where nerves travel from your spinal cord to your legs. It is very possible that even 8 minutes on the toilet seat could cause enough pressure to limit the nerve transmissions and cause numbness and tingling, especially if leaning forward with arms pressing down on thighs.

Exam: You must be examined and checked for vascular disease, neuropathy and possible diabetes. I suggest starting with a complete physical exam an comprehensive blood testing as well as venous/arterial doppler studies of your lower extremities.

This phenomenon could happen for instance if one's body mass index is above the norm which would suggest that weight loss may be a solution to the problem or at least help. Of course, bodyweight may not be a factor in this case. Check with your doctor for further information.

Sitting is the position in which we have the most pressure upon the discs and joints in our low back. The nerves that come out of the back go down the legs, and can be irritated with long periods of sitting. Be evaluated by your chiropractor.
