i went to the hospital for left chest burning sensation they gave me medicine for acid reflux how long does it take to go away? also they checked my heart everything is good. i have trouble using the restroom? what causes this?

: The stomach entrance is just behind &amp; to the left of the heart. Backwash of stomach acid triggers various intensity of pain-based n how irritated that area is. It could improve in days or weeks. Avoiding caffeine or nicotine that prevents the stomach entrance from closing helps. Not laying down after meals &amp; avoiding spicy foods helps.

Chest pain after mea: If it is mostly related to meals, and not when not after a meal, then mostly a case of reflux from the stomach back up into the esophagus. The esophagus is not made by nature to tolerate acid as food is not supposed to back up into it. Acid in the esophagus burns the esophagus. You can feel burning, or even a chest pain such as in a heart attack. Some has acid back up into the throat.

See a doctor: You may have a respiratory infection or even pneumonia.  You need a chest xray to rule out a lung problem especially if you smoke.  Your doctor can diagnose your problem as well as treat it.

Chest infection : This can be a few things bronchitis, pneumonia, pneumonitis, allergies, inhalation exposure   The troubling complaint is shortness of breath. I suggest seeing a doctor.

Possibly: Only way to truly know if you have strep is get your throat swabbed and cultured by physician or nurse. Can go to primary care or urgent care. Could be viral sore throat (pharyngitis) which is more common than strep. Rest, drink lots and gargle with salt water. Ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain.
