If you feel: Also that the vein is  firm, can't be collapsed you may have a clot in the vein. Did you give blood, was blood taken for a test, was the vein used for IV medications, was trauma involved, was you arm pit examined, was thoracic outlet syndrome excluded, etc. Etc. So many things that only a good md could look for and detect. Before treatment is diagnosis... Se a doctor...

my left arm vein hurts to even move especially when i lift it up or twist it. had no previous surgeries or iv so no idea what it could be?

See a Dr: Pain, redness and swelling in an arm or leg vein could indicate that there is a blood clot. It would be wise to see a Dr for a thorough exam and to evaluate the condition.

having on going superficial clot in my left arm vein for months now. it just pops up and then it goes away. dr said not to worry. can this go into dvt?

Superficial clot.: Superficial vein clots are generally not worrisome as they're too small to really do anything bad.  Try putting a warm soak onto the area in question twice daily for a while - see if this helps the clot to dissolve.

during venipuncture yesterday, the needle went through the arm vein. now the ulnar nerve is paining. no visible hematoma. is it internal bleeding?

Possibly irritated: I don't understand how venipuncture can get to the ulnar nerve but it can certainly puncture some other nerves.  I suspect that the pain will be transient lasting no more than a week . If the problem persists beyond that or not improving, better contact your doctor  Ice the area if the pain is unbearable.

Pulsing blood vessel: For your peace of mind please see your doctor.  He/she can do an easy exam and let you know.  Sometimes we focus on something and it's difficult to get our mind off of it.  Yet, we need to rule out other possibilities. Peace and good health.

isolated petechia comes &goes, normal cbc 2 mos ago, bruised arm vein from carrying 30lb baby far. worried about leukemia but doctors aren't. ideas?

Phlebitis Arm: It sounds as if you have developed superficial thrombophlebitis of a vein in your arm.  You should see a doctor and get it evaluated, as you could develop bacterial phlebitis which can be serious.  Non bacterial phlebitis can often be treated with warm compresses and anti-inflammatories, but you also need to make sure that the phelbitis doesn't extend and cause a deeper more serious clot, i.e. Dvt.

Needs to be checked: If they are painful and distended, it may mean that there is a blockage in the large veins in the upper arm.  You need to call your physician today to obtain a checkup promptly to find out the root of the problem

Needs examination: Arm pain is difficult without an examination.  There are a variety of causes - e.g. neck or shoulder problem or referred pain from the chest.  Best to see a doctor.  See a doctor urgently if the arm is weak or you have chest pain or shortness of breath.

i can see the veins in my left arm. they are not bulging and not painful. it comes and goes. some days i don't see it. what could cause this?

Normal: veins return blood to the heart and have different filling capacities and wall tone. This is not an illness unless the veins are red hot and tender.
