? related but doubt: direct cause/effect.  Depression and other problems treated with Effexor (venlafaxine) often comes with extra "stuff" in terms of abnormal physical phenomena.  Our current understanding of this is chicken vs egg.   I suspect the problem(s) you have suffered that have required Ritalin and Effexor (venlafaxine) are much more directly related to your symptoms and not having taken meds.  Concerned that depression/anxiety present

Psychiatrist eval: Hoping you're working with a psychiatrist, because treatment resistant depression requires specialty care.  You may need a more extended release form of effexor, (venlafaxine) or a higher dose -- but sweating can also come from that.  Beta blockers will not help depression at all -- at high enough dose could worsen it.  A psychiatrist will be able to assess your case & suggest additional treatment options.

Talk to your doctor : The usual withdrawal symptoms are more flu like. The symptoms you are describing sounds more like mania. Tell your doctor about your symptoms.

It depends.: On whether you were slowly tapered down or abruptly stopped. Also, there is apparently broad variation in the duration. Generally , however, if it even occurs it is usually over in about two weeks. Prozac (fluoxetine) can block it and you may wish to talk to your doc about that, especially if it  seems to be intolerably long. You have my sympathy on this. I had to stop it after 6 years. It was not fun at all.
