Prob normal: There is no relationship between tubal ligation and breast milk production. It is very common for lactation to continue even months after having a baby. If you are not postpartum or if it continues you should be evaluated for other causes.

Not normal: Lactating is not normal outside of the context of pregnancy and breast-feeding. You might have a hormone problem or a problem within your breast, like a mass. Please see your doctor about this. Good luck.

i had tubal ligation done 4 days ago and now i have severe throbbing pain. is this normal?

This is not usual: Whether you had a laparoscopic surgery or a minilaparotomy procedure, you should normally be expected to feel better and better by day 4 "without severe throbbing pain". It would be best to notify your Gyn surgeon ASAP., seek a clinical evaluation and examination ASAP. and an emergent explanation for/treatment of your symptoms.

Hormonal balance: And not ovulating causing irregular bleeding. Give it a while to straighten out, the if it doesn't you should seek care.

See your OB: You dont need to ovulate to have spotting, and vaginal bleeding, if light, can happen normally at any day of the cycle. If heavy, dysfunctional bleeding needs to be evaluated for other possible causes, and a trip to the OB wiuld be well advised. The differential for dysfunctional bleeding is too long for this answer, please see an OB ASAP if the bleeding is heavy

Possibly, but.....: Passing some clots after a tubal ligation may be normal, or may not be.  Call the gynecologist that performed the procedure.

i had my tubal ligation over 9 months ago.  each month after i stop bleeding a couple days to a week goes by and i start spotting. is this normal?

Possible related: Tubal ligation usually does not affect the regularity of your period.  Having bleeding in between your normal periods is called intermenstrual bleeding.  If the blood flow to your ovaries was compromised during your tubal ligation, which is actually uncommon, this could make intermenstrual bleeding occur.  More than likely it is by chance that your periods are now different.

i am 36 yrs old & i had a tubal ligation done 16 yrs ago. is it possible to go thru menopause right now.  i get hot flashes & really irritated. help?

While it: Would be early, it is certainly possible. There are other things that can cause the same symptoms, however. Have your doctor check it out and do some simple lab testing to find out.

Pregnancy test: Tubal ligations are very reliable but they do occasionally fail. Take a pregnancy test. If you are not pregnant then there are many reason's for a missed period such as hormonal shifts, early menopause, stress, and thyroid disorders. If you are not pregnant and do not get a period soon, see your doctor for an evaluation.

Ovulation spotting: As a woman ages, the ovaries require more stimulation from the pituitary to produce an egg at ovulation. This provides a large increase in estrogen production, and that level of estrogen drops to near zero just prior to ovulation. Similar to why bleeding occurs at your menses, degeneration of some of the lining of the uterus causes spotting to frank brief bleeding: i.e., it is normal.
