i took my first dose of prescribed klonopin .25mg yesterday at 3pm. is it okay to have a few alcoholic drinks today if i do not redose?

i took flexaral 5 mg at 8 am and klonopin 1 mg at 6:30 pm but around 4pm i had a alcoholic beverage my vision is blurry is that from the flexaral.. help?

: A common side effect of flexeril is blurred vision and alcohol does potentiate flexeril adverse effects in the central nervous system. However, a common side effect of klonopin is also blurred vision and it can be aggravated with alcolhol although you took the last dose more than 20 hours ago. I would say your vision problem is secondary to both drugs and alcohol which you should not drink it.

Not a good plan: It is not a good idea to drink alcohol when on medications like zoloft (sertraline) and klonopin.  The sedating properties could be additive, including on vacation.

Not in Recovery: He may be a recovering alcoholic, but he is not in recovery.  He has substituted one drug for another.  He needs to be confronted in a loving manner.  Consider contacting A.A. or a treatment center to find out what resouces are available for an intervention.

Clonazepam : Clonazepam is a highly effective medication for panic anxiety.  In most cases of panic anxiety, it should be taken every 12 hours, without extra doses, and should not be taken as needed.  Some alcoholics have panic anxiety as an underlying cause.  If panic is specifically diagnosed by psychiatric interview, then Clonazepam is one option that can be considered.  In someone with a history of alcoholism, there is reason for extra caution about the potential for abuse, about the ability to stay rigidly on an exact dose schedule, about possibly existing medical consequences of alcoholism, and other factors.  Although some clinicians do fear that Clonazepam may hinder sobriety, it is very possible that proper use may make sobriety more likely and more comfortable.

Depends : If you are using Klonopin for seizures, the highest dose can be up to 15 or 17 mg a day! However for anxiety, I wouldn't go over 4 mg a day. Very few patients go up to 8 mg a day. Klonopin has a very long half life and may make you very tired. If you are using other medicines , than more than 2 mg of Klonopin a day should suffice. Let your doctors guide you and don't mix alcohol or other sedative

Depends: Depends on the dosage of Klonopin, your physical health and when you are planning to get up in the morning as well as how the medication will effect you You don't want to drive if you are sedated by the combination. Just because you can take it or tolerate it  , doesn't mean it is the correct medication for you. You need to discuss this with your treating physician.

: Drinking a glass if grapefruit juice can raise the blood level of klonopin, but I don't think you'll have enough juice from the grapefruit to make a significant difference.

Go slow: When weaning off klonopin or other medications in the same class &quot;benzodiazepine&quot; you must do so under a doctor&#x27;s supervision. Some people have to go no faster than 1/8th of the dose a month to avoid tremors, nervousness, insomnia.
