: Equally effective but definitely not needed. This will not improve on whatever your contraceptive is. Nobody ever gets pregnant without semen ejaculation inside the vagina; there is no risk for semen from surfaces, on fingers, etc.

if sperm is being tested at the fertility clinic which is an hour away. will keeping the sperm in a soft cup and placing the soft cup inside of a sterile cup keep it warm and from dying? and will it keep air  from killing the sperm?

Fertility ?'s: If donor sperm is being used from a "fertility clinic", and this use is appropriately timed to coincide with ovulation, it is usually best to have this applied vaginally at the clinic where the donor sperm is produced to avoid delays which could reduce the success of the insemination.

Vegetable oils: Alternatives to expensive, off the shelf bought lubricants such as preseed include olive oil, mineral oil or any other vegetable oil from the kitchen. Good for the women and safe for sperm.

Males have an endless supply of sperm that are generated from the testis and replenished continuously for more than 6 decades.Females have a set number of eggs for their lifetime, but this is not changed by any masturbatory activity.

AISH: The least expensive solution is artificial insemination husband (AISH) by taking your "washed" sperm and infusing it through your wife's cervix to bypass the hostile cervical mucous by a Fertility MD if you are unable to conceive.

Sperm death: Well, this is got to be one of the more unusual questions here. I'm wondering in what context you want to know. Sperm, like any living tissue requires some sort of "food or energy" to survive. We also have to remain in some form of solution and not dry out. There are formulas and chemicals that can kill sperm. There is no way to recover them, but what would a guy do if he saved them? The two exceptions are:  freezing them in a sperm bank or starting a pregnancy (1 sperm "becomes" a baby).
