is jelq exercise effective & safe?

Not effective: Others have answered similar questions on healthtap, replying that penile size is not likely to be increased through this method.  Penis size is genetically determined, but can seem smaller if you have a fat abdomen.  It's also possible to injure yourself while "jelqing."  I have referred this question to urology colleagues in hopes of more astute replies.

Usually not self cur: Venous leak issues generally are manifested by a poorly maintained erection because of premature outflow of blood from the corporal bodies through emissary veins in the corpora cavernosa. I don't understand completely your comment about the erection close to orgasm. Have you seen a urologist and it was suggested you have venous leak? I am unaware of spontaneous correction.

No evidence in favor: No claims that it enlarges penis or that it enlarges cavities , within the penile corpora (rods), which contain blood, are based on any medical evidence. In fact can damage penis if done too vigorously. Done gently., is form of masturbation and no doubt feels good.

Neither: I would not believe that any physician has recommended either procedure to you.  Please do not do anything that can permanently damage your penis and that will probably not increase your size.

Enlargement: Many things touted to increase the size oftge penis can be harmful or can change the angle of the erect penis. Be careful.

PENILE SIZE: Ther is no negative issues I could find associated with thechnique. There is not much research documented . But massage and repeated exercise of other muscles can improve function. Even if he mentally thinks it has improved. It also may contribute to improving intimacy .

Quackery: Whether harmful or not, it won't do any good. There are no procedures or exercises that have any effect on penis size or quality of erections, unless psychologically (placebo effect). Since "jelquing" can't help with anything and maybe might be harmful, I see no sense in trying it.

Can harm yourself: Some of those exercises can harm you, depending on how vigorously you did them.  If having symptoms or difficulty with erections now, please see a urologist.
