i have red swollen lumpy bumps painful and itchy all in the pubic area and round the anus aswell as ringworm round the anus its been 2 weeks now and its getting worse even with over the counter medications?

Possibilities: These can be yeast, which should respond to OTC anti-fungals. They can also be Group A streptococcus, better known for causing strep throat. It may be something else.Given the duration &amp; lack of response I would have it checked out.

No way to know: Herpes is usually painful. Not just itchy. If the outbreak is different than your normal then prob not.  You might check with your doc to look at it to see if the lesions look like Herpes

It may be.: Without an exam, it is not truly possible to tell you what the dark spots may be.  Have your GYN doctor examine you and tell you what they most likely are.  They can also discuss with your the best way to properly and safely remove your pubic hair.

Intertrigo commonly affects the axilla, perineum, inframammary creases, abdominal folds.

Possibly: It is certainly possible for anyone to have itching in their genitals. Some males just like to scratch! when young, i just advised my sons to not do so in public!

Irritation: Irritation to tissues. Use an antihistamine such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to help and cold packs. Avoid further shaving. Make sure you are up to date on your tetanus. All the best.

Any bumps? : Itching, especially if you see some bumps, along the top of your pubic hairline may indicate folliculitis, especially if that is where your underwear is rubbing. I do have to mention scabies also, which is contagious. See a clinician if the problem continues. Hope that helps.

Get it checked: We don't know how long ago you had the IV.There is possibility of IV site infection which can cause swelling and discoloration.It can also e caused by IV I filtering in the underlying skin which usually gets better by itself.But it is a good idea to get it checked
