Stye: If this occurred rather suddenly, it probably is a stye, which is a blocked oil gland of the eyelid. It can become secondarily infected and can spread to adjacent tissues leading to cellulitis. Most of these styes respond to very warm compresses 3-4 times/day for 10' followed by gentle massage with a washcloth containing a small amount of baby shampoo.  After a week, the stye should nearly resolve

taking  bacitracin ophthalmic ointment for a stye. what are normal side effects? my eye gets slightly irritated/itchy is that normal?

Not effective: Bacitracin, a good antibiotic for open skin wounds, will not penetrate into a stye which is a closed system.  The best treatment is frequent applications of very warm (not hot) pads or washcloth for 4 minutes about 5 times per day.  Although very uncommon, you could develop an allergy to Bacitracin as well.

my daughter complained of a bug bite to her eye about a month ago, the bug bite turned into a stye that wont go away and now she is waking up with swollen eye on that side? but no other symptoms besides her eye gets itchy and a little sore at times?

See pediatrician: This requires a doc visit, as there may be more to this problem than a simple stye. Regardless, it needs to be resolved to stop her suffering as well.

Eye lesion: It is usually bacterial infection. It would need frequent wash with water and antibiotic eye ointment if not cleared within 24 hours

experiencing itchy nose and eyes, a stye that is healing now and a clear watery liquid dripping from nose. what could this be?  i just moved to a colder climate in norway but the nose dripping scared me. might this be csf leak? no head trauma.

It very likely is: simple rhinorrhea: runny nose from allergies, a cold, exposure to cold temperatures such as you suggest. The fact that you also have itchy nose and eyes suggests allergy/hay fever as a cause which would not be unusual when you find yourself in a new environment with new potential antigens/allergens. Consider an OTC antihistamine or begin a steroid nasal spray (Flonase). I wouldn't worry about CSF.

Yes.: Painful swelling of the eyelid could also indicate a skin infection, or cellulitis. I suggest you see your doctor asap.

Allergy or dryness: Are the most common reasons for chronically itchy eyes.  An infection, usually viral, can cause more acute itching.  Best to see an ophthalmologist to confirm a diagnosis.

Infection: It may be an infection like "pink eye" or conjunctivitis.  Is the eye red or have discharge?  The baby may need an antibiotic eye drop.
