200mg zoloft, (sertraline) mellissa tea and 375 mg magnesium tablet is that a good combination for the night. i finish work late and wondering if that would work.

Your call: Your own experience will tell you.  If you fall asleep easily, do not have disturbing dreams, and wake up feeing refreshed, then it is an ok combination.  Having said that, if you do have issues, then it may the zoloft, (sertraline) so might choose to take it in the morning instead.

Yes: No problem with green tea and zoloft. The only problem is with Coumadin (warfarin) where green tea lowers the inr and then when it is stopped it doubles.

Yes it is: The St. John's is more of a theoretical. Although it (but not chamomile) lowers liver metabolism of drug, it is not a strong blocker of liver metabolism, and the safety margin of Zoloft (sertraline) is quite high (double the amount is still safe in most).

Zoloft (sertraline) + green tea: I am only responding from a psychiatric  perspective. Green tea is fine with use of zoloft (sertraline). You will need to get input from a urologist or other physician about use of green tea with cystic kidneys.

Zoloft, (sertraline) No tea: Each agent, Zoloft, (sertraline) chamomile and lavender seek to achieve the same effect - decrease of anxiety and/or encouragement of sleep. Since the effects are diffuse and may cause an opposite effect, it is difficult to predict the specific effect on your body. For this reason, consider taking the pharmaceutical med as prescribed. You may take the tablet with plain, hot water for its soothing effect.

can i take valerian root tea to sleep? i take zoloft (sertraline) in the morning and clonazepam around noon

Why not clonazepam: Later in the day, closer to bedtime? Especially if you are sleepy in the daytime?  Clonazepam is a good sedative, more potent than valerian root.  I don't know your detailed history but you may want to discuss with your doctor.  Make sure he/she knows you have daytime sleepiness and hard time with sleep at night.

You are wise to ask: Zoloft/sertraline together with ethanol may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, difficulty concentrating. Maintain Zoloft dose and limit use of alcohol. Take precautions, avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you learn how the combo affects you. Check with prescriber if problems occur. Not a good plan: Using zoloft (sertraline) and alcohol together accentuates the sedating properties of both.  Also, alcohol use disrupts the sleep cycle -- which depression does also.  Alcohol can worsen existing depression.
