Cure? No: Avoidance-yes.   These typically are from repetitive use- so avoidance of the repetitive movements that aggravate the condition is the only sure way to avoid and thus potentially "cure" that type of problem...   Best to you!  thanks for the question!

my forearm aches i believe like tendonitis and my elbow down is swelling and my hand even feels a bit numb. is that normal?

Hello. : Hello. I don't know the cause of your arm pain. Pulled muscle? Tendon inflammation? Ligament injury? Avulsion fracture? Because of the severity of your pain and the fact that it is preventing you from full function, recommend that this be evaluated medically. Possible: If your saying that you have tendinitis of the elbow and your considering a full arm tattoo...And should you do it?  My answer would be to cool the arm down first....Maximize your treatment regimen and ensure it is fairly well controlled prior to creating an entire new set of inflammatory circumstances in your arm.

Yes this can.: This may well be an epicondylitis and can make the arm very painful and numb. What are you doing in the gym? Are you lifting weights or doing repetitive exercise I would recommend you see an ortho for further dx and then get the doc to recommend alternate exercise to prevent recurrence.

Wear a...: tennis elbow brace on your left, and give both arms a relative break. Damned if you do or don't should not be the best option!

Up to 1 year: Most of the time tennis elbow is self limiting and the problem resolves itself in a few days or weeks. In rare cases it can last for up to a year and at that point surgery would be recommended.

Yes: When throwing sidearm, a different set of muscle contractions control the motion of the shoulder, however, the same rotator cuff muscles control the stabilization of the shoulder joint. These tendons go through tremendous forces during the throw, and can still develop inflammation or tendinitis.
