NO: Question if soy milk is in the same group as "milk, yogurt, cheese" group. NO. Soy milk is soy based, which is a different protein than cow's milk protein. Traditional milk, yogurt, and cheese are made from cow's milk. All these have alternative to cow's milk, such as soy, almond, coconut, etc.

Maybe but NO: I will repeat another answer:  if you go to cardiology for heart problem and the dr. Recommends a heart drug, i doubt seriously you would suggest or ? Whether a tea brewed from the foxglove (digitalis) plant would be "ok" as a substitute for the drug ordered.  The cardiologist would struggle with that ?  Why is it that women want to bypass good modern medical therapy for hormones?

Too much is no good: Soy products have been dietary staples in asia for hundreds, if not thousands of years. Soy can contain compounds that affect thyroid function, and can be mildly estrogenic. Excessive intake, especially of processed soy products, e.g. Texturized soy protein, as opposed to natural sources like edamames, tofu, tempeh, could conceivably be a problem; mostly not. Soy oil doesn't have those chemicls.

You need more!: Soy or any plant based protein, is much less as a protein source than animal based protein, because the amino-acid composition does not miiror the Amino Acids that your muscle protein is comprised off.  You need approximately 40% more of soy protein nutrtional supplements than whey protein.

Not Good at All : There is nothing good about soy milk. It causes homonal disturbances, negatively affects your thyroid and blocks the absorption of vital minerals

Good source: : Protein, calcium and non-dairy, for people with lactose-intolerance.  It's a nice alternative to cow's milk.  If you have a soy allergy, then not good, but otherwise, no 'bad' effects from soy milk.

Bad but...: Soy has properties that mimic estrogen to a certain degree. So obviously it would be beneficial to menopausal women with symptoms. It is not however, recommended for men or as a healthy alternative to other foods.
