i had an ovarian cyst rupture 2 months ago and i am still having distention and bloating in my lower abdomen.  i don't have pain. is this normal?

It may be: Depending on the size of the cyst and a persons ability to deal with pain, this could be totally normal, but over time should slowly improve.  If you  symptoms do not improve soon, then make an appt with your gyn dr. For an evaluation.  Best wishes.

i had ovarian cysts rupture abt 2wks ago, just started menstruating today. cramping is unusually intense, along w/nausea & extreme bloating. normal??

Normal for cyst: It is normal for post ruptured ovarian cyst, as the extra estrogen state is now resolving.

Ovarian cyst: When an ovarian cyst ruptures, it shrinks in size from loss of fluid into the abdomen. It does not immediately disappear.

No: The stomach pain, cramping & gas can be related to constipation, but if you're really in pain, you should go to the er to make sure the current cyst didn't rupture. Did your gyn say you have polycystic ovarian syndrome?

Might be: It is possible, but non-gyn issues should be considered as well. If persistent pain, probably best to be evaluated formally.

Ans: Well if you were diagnosed with ovarian cysts then there is your dx for that. Now the bloating after eating you need to have some more blood tests one for h pylori. You also need to check the gallbladder and then look at the colon for a colitis. See your doctor

Inflammation: Ovarian cysts may cause the feeling of bloating.  This may be due to fluid leaking from the cysts and pelvic inflammation as a result of the cysts.  Inflammation will cause swelling and fluid accumulation. 
Should have a pelvic ultrasound to evaluate the size/quality of the cysts.

When removed: If ovarian cyst is causing bloating as a symptom.
Only way the bloating will go away is if the cyst is removed.
Bloating with ovarian cyst happens if the cyst is rather large in size and there may be other symptoms like pelvic pain, pain during bowel movements, pain during sexual intercourse and before/after periods.

Quickly: Usually within 48-72 hours depending upon the size of the cyst, use of anti-inflammatories, and whether or not a procedure was performed.

Bloating: Bloating is most likely due to digestive issue and would not likely be indicative of an ovarian cyst  without other symptoms such as pain or localized tenderness in the lower abdomen.
