Insulinoma: Insulin is the only hormone that brings your blood sugar down.  Your Insulin levels should be very low if your blood sugar is low.  If you have low blood sugar and a high Insulin level, then you have something that is producing Insulin abnormally.  Ask your doctor to explain!

Low at 100?: If you have attacks like this while your blood sugar is 100 mg/dl, it isn't low blood sugar attacks.  If you have documented low blood sugars following food, this is very common amongst people with Insulin resistance and risk for type 2 dm.  Please discuss with your doctor. A nutrition consult should help to direct you toward more low glycemic index foods. What's your hba1c? Are you on meds?

But to be able to better interpret the data you provided, more information around the circumstances when these numbers were acquired is necessary.

Find the cause: I recommend you see a physician to find out why your Insulin is high when your blood sugar is low.  This is not a normal response and an Insulin producing tumor needs to be ruled out.  You need to find out why your blood sugar is dropping every 90 minutes.

Insulin & Glucose: Insulin allows cells to use glucose as fuel. It helps to regulate blood sugar. Too much will bring blood sugar down putting/keeping it in storage and making it less available to cells. When this happens, hypoglycemia occurs. One may feel shaky, dizzy, headache, nausea, sweaty, etc. Which is a prompt to treat the low blood sugar.  Severe lows can cause loss of consciousness, seizure, death.

Likely: High insulin, or hyperinsulinemia, may be due to Insulin resistance.  Metformin is helpful for most women with Insulin resistance, along with proper nutrition, exercise, and weight management.  If you are trying to conceive or have pcos along with high insulin, be sure to see a board certified reproductive endocinologist!

: The more time your blood sugar gets low, the less your body is aware that it is low. If you have diabetes, that is a problem when your body is not aware that it is low.
