Yes: Its just saline solution. Moderation in pouring it in your eyes. Start with one or two drops.

Accepted Answer

Emergency only: Only in a situation where you have no appropriate solution.  The ingredient in the tears is different that saline , or disinfecting solution.  Make sure you soak your lenses in an appropriate solution before reinserting them.

: Test the products first on areas of regular skin. A glob of product on the pad of a BANDAID left overnight is a simple but good test of whether your body will react with a rash or other effect. If it produces no response to regular skin, a few hours on the sensitive skin of the lids should be well tolerated.

what moisturizers or otc creams are safe to use around the eye and on the eyelid? 
my skin has been dry lately. i use moisturizer on my face but the skin around my eyes has been getting dry and irritated too. i tried vaseline but it didnt help?

Sometimes: Contact lens wetting solutions are designed to coat the lens and allow re-insertion of the lens into the eye.  To that extent they can substitute for over the counter lubricating drops.  Do not use cleaners this way.  You could save some $$$ but there is a risk of contamination and also it is inconvenient as the contact lens bottles are not dropper bottles. Proceed with caution.

Clear care: Try different ones, but i think this one is best since the hydrogen peroxide system removes deposits and there are no preservatives once it is neutralized.

i switched my contact lens solution from bio true to opti free and now my eyes are really red. have i created a problem? i will switch back.

Accepted Answer

Nope: You answered your own question.  Very common to have allergic reactions to new contact lens products.  Go back to the old solution or else switch to a daily disposable lens that requires no solutions, which is kind of  nice.

Peroxide-based: Peroxide-based cleaners, such as clear care, are the best for this.  

For artificial tears, get the ones that state they are for use with contact lenses.

Pepper Spray: Sterile saline or water is the best thing to flush eye with after pepper spray. Take out contact lenses immediately if you have been  sprayed.

The best solution: For contacts is to use a peroxide based cleaning system such as clear care and to rinse the contacts with saline solution (such as sensitive eyes) with insertion.
