Yes, it is possible: Bleeding in early pregnancy is unfortunately not uncommon and most often is  of unclear cause. It is often attributed to "implantation" or to "placentation issues" and resolves spontaneously.
A combination of your other symptoms, your betaHCG level and your pelvic sonogram findings may provide you and your doctor a sense of direction. Consult your gynecologist.

If you have been missing pills it's possible to be pregnant though most women don't bleed after stopping the pill if they're pregnant. If you missed pills check preg test.

The cervix doesn't like to be touched in pregnancy.  Later in pregnancy it can be due to things like a placenta previa, preterm labor, sex or recent exam and again infections.  Its best to call your OB provider even if after hours (most of us have an answering service)
